Our journey begins at Longjing Village, the heart of China's tea culture. Engage in the age-old tradition of tea picking, learn about the intricate drying process, and savor freshly brewed Longjing tea paired with traditional snacks.

For lunch, we dine at a lakeside restaurant overlooking the serene West Lake. Chef Chen will delight us with Jiangnan delicacies like Longjing shrimp and squirrel fish, beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor.

In the afternoon, we head to Qingshan Village, an artistic haven surrounded by lush mountains and flowing streams. At Rong Art Gallery, curator Eden will introduce us to local craft techniques such as weaving, pottery, and batik, and explain the innovative "future village" concept.

As the day ends, we retreat to our luxurious countryside hotel in Anji, nestled amidst tranquil mountains. Local chefs will prepare a sumptuous dinner using fresh regional ingredients, promising a restful night under the starlit sky.

Our adventure continues as we drive to Jiande, a scenic area where three rivers converge, creating a hidden paradise of mountains and waters. We begin at the Xin'an River Scenic Area, where lush greenery and crystal-clear waters form a picturesque backdrop.

By midday, we reach the historic Sandu Fishing Village, where a riverside restaurant awaits with a delicious tofu fish head pot. After lunch, witness the unique wedding customs of the Nine Surnames Fishermen, a local community with fascinating traditions.

In the afternoon, we check into Pusu Boutique Hotel, known for its exquisite Song Dynasty-inspired design. After a short rest, we explore Yanzhou Ancient Town. Wander through its stone-paved streets, admire ancient residences and intricately carved archways, and immerse yourself in the rich history at Yanzhou Museum. Don’t miss the local snacks like sticky rice cakes and tofu buns.

Returning to Pusu, you’ll find private hot springs in every room, perfect for a relaxing soak before drifting off to the sounds of nature.

Anji – Songyang (National Geographic – Back Garden of Jiangnan) – Exploring Ancient Villages and Terraces

In the afternoon, we visit Songyang’s terraced fields, a photographer's dream with their cascading layers. Enjoy the serene beauty and watch farmers at work. You can also visit the cliffside Vanguard Bookstore for a quiet moment with a cup of coffee.

By evening, we check into a converted village guesthouse in Songyang. Host James, a dreamer seeking a return to nature, and local elders will share the history and stories of these ancient villages. Dinner will be a delightful surprise of Songyang traditional dishes, followed by stargazing in the peaceful courtyard.

We head east to Wenling, a coastal city renowned for its beautiful coastline and seafood. Our day begins in Shitang Ancient Town, where traditional fishing village architecture meets stunning coastal views. Climb to a vantage point for panoramic vistas of sea and mountains.

We drive through idyllic villages and sunlit fields to the Zhoushan Archipelago, crossing the magnificent Hangzhou Bay Bridge. Upon arrival, a private fishing boat awaits to introduce us to the traditional fishing lifestyle. Enjoy refreshments and ice-cold beer as we sail.

We return to Shanghai, where the bustling city life awaits. Spend the afternoon exploring the Bund, Nanjing Road, Wukang Road, and Xintiandi, or relax at your hotel.

In the evening, join us for a farewell dinner in a classic Shanghai colonial-style house. Enjoy a "colonial hotpot" with a rich fish maw chicken broth and personalized service. Toast with Maotai, China's national liquor, and celebrate the end of our enchanting village adventure.
